Covid-19 Update (March 18, 2020)

posted Mar 18, 2020, 8:25 PM by Marc Pelletier

We understand the concern regarding the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) across our communities, and our hearts go out to all who have been affected.

As a concerned member of the community, we want to reach out to you and provide an update on the actions that the Winnipeg South Osborne Legion, Branch #252 is taking to support the health and well-being of our communities.

We consider the safety of our members, guests, and our employees our top priority and are following recommended procedures to the best of our ability.

To reduce risk of infection, please see below the following precautions you can take:

• People are encouraged to take common preventative measures, including regular hand washing with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds. Make sure to dry your hands thoroughly. Or, you can use an alcohol-based hand cleanser if your hands are not visibly dirty.
• You should also cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing, or you can cough or sneeze into the crook of your elbow. Throw used tissues in the garbage and immediately wash your hands, or use an alcohol-based hand cleanser.
• Avoid close contact (within 2 meters/6 feet) with anyone showing symptoms of a respiratory illness, such as coughing or sneezing.
• Please remain at home if you are sick

Keeping our Branch Clean & Safe

At the Branch we have always been proud of the cleanliness and presentation of our clubroom to provide an exceptional customer experience. We have implemented a series of precautionary steps including increased cleaning and sanitizing of our branch to help prevent the spread of all germs.

In addition to daily cleaning, we have spent time to develop new sanitation requirements, especially in our most frequented areas such as door handles, railings, VLT terminals, washrooms, and customer service areas.

The bottom line is we want our guests and members to feel reassured when they enter our Branch.

At this time, we are operating with reduced hours and cancelled our normal social activities (Bingo, Meat Draws, Chase the Ace, Friday night bands and Saturday Karaoke).

We continue to share information with our teams on the best ways to keep themselves, their families and our customers safe and healthy. Thank you for being a loyal customer of the Winnipeg South Osborne Legion, Branch #252. We are privileged to serve you and your community and look forward to seeing you soon.

- The Winnipeg South Osborne Legion Branch #252 Executive
